Using ThemeProvider in @storybook/theming package

I am trying to override theme object in my plugin and found this documentation, but it doesn't meet my needs since my theme objects are dynamic.

Then I noticed ThemeProvider in @storybook/theming package and wondered if it is safe to use and override theme objects with this package? Although the provider is public, I cannot find any documentation about this package. This works for me, but I am unsure if it is something I should avoid.
