also, i would like to suggerst moving to a more modern package manager for python like uv. to mitigate these common issues

Looks like the backend install is failing because the package versions in the repo are incompatible. FastAPI 0.115.12 requires Starlette < 0.47, but the project pins Starlette 0.49.1, so uv can’t resolve the dependency tree and the backend install stops.

So this isn’t a Linux issue, the repo just needs its backend dependencies updated or pinned correctly. Until that’s fixed upstream, the setup script won’t complete.
Also, your suggestion would work.
