Project import (setting classpath containers) is stuck at 33%

Recently when I open spring-petclinic in VS Code, I have observed multiple times that the project import (setting up the classpath container) is stuck at 33%. And usually reload the window and it works again.

I can't reproduce the issue.
@testforstephen could you, please, provide your settings.json and your extensions?

I have the same issue, but 37% every time.
I reload the window too, to unlock this issue.
It happens when I pull the changes from Git (Gitlab in my case) by clicking on the "Synchronize changes".
I've read on Stackoverflow that it's a Maven problem to locate the settings.xml file.
I'm currently trying this solution... time will tell...
