A possible extension to the existing platform would be to include quizzes or flashcards to summarize the content in a short and concise manner. Other formats - Fill in the Blanks, Coding rounds, MCQs etc could also be taken into account. This can be subject-wise, semester-wise or a custom selection of the sorts.

Let me know if this is a feasible issue to work on and I'll begin right away.

Thanks for the suggestion. Since this is a fairly large feature, I would need more clarity around the implementation and overall scope before moving forward with it.

If this feature gets implemented, I would want the experience to be somewhat similar to the quiz sections on W3Schools, with a clean and structured flow.

Thanks for the response, I'm considering taking inspiration from W3Schools, as you suggested, particularly this one: https://www.w3schools.com/c/c_quiz.php

I would like to incrementally develop on it, with phases as below (10 questions per choice):

1. A quiz for each subject (standard questions)
2. A quiz for each semester (a combination of the set from 1.)
3. Possible AI-assisted generation of (1.) and (2.) instead of standard sets.

A lib/ folder would contain the single source of truth - initially a hardcoded set of questions and answers, followed by server side API calls if we agree upon moving ahead with this. It would consist an array of Quiz objects for now - the subject, question set, a description.

Files under app/quiz will be page.tsx and [slug]/page.tsx, [slug]/QuizClient.tsx - following your current naming schema and flow of logic. Color codes for correct (green) and wrong (red) alongside explanations for the correct answer is in scope.

Quiz formats may be restricted to MCQs with single correct for the initial phases, let's see if we can incorporate for more over time. I hope I've answered most of your queries.

Methods to access the quiz section:

1. On the side panel present at every course - the last chapter could be the quiz.
2. On the navigation bar, a separate quiz section that allows the user to select a topic to be quizzed on.
3. Further improvements could allow the user to select a bunch of topics, number of questions etc to make a custom quiz.

Thanks for the breakdown and prototype, this direction looks good to me overall.

For now, I would suggest focusing on the core quiz infrastructure, subject/semester based MCQs, navigation flow, and the overall UI/UX.

The AI-assisted quiz generation part can be handled later in a separate PR once the base quiz system is properly implemented, since that would introduce additional complexity around APIs, maintainability, and reviewability.

The current approach with hardcoded/local quiz data initially sounds reasonable to me.

You can start working on this from the coding period onwards (15th May as per GSSoC guidelines).
