Crash on fairphone 6 running /e/os when opening large folder

Steps to reproduce

Open app to large folder of a hundred or so files.

Expected behaviour

The app should not crash.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Failed to allocate a 56 byte allocation with 65280 free bytes and 63KB until OOM, target footprint 268435456, growth limit 268435456; giving up on allocation because <1% of heap free after GC.
