How to package at Gentoo

Can following be set as default?

    operatingSystem = OperatingSystemFamily.LINUX
    architecture = MachineArchitecture.X86_64

JabRef has following report

The command ./gradlew :jabgui:jpackage ends up in a crash (probably because it is meant for Ubuntu and I’m on Gentoo).

You do not need to add an extra target for a specific linux distribution. In your example, the gentoo in target("gentoo") is just a name that is used to name the tasks the plugin registers. You can name it foo and it will still work.

In the docs and in your build, ubuntu was choosen in the names to use the same names as GH runners have. This can be beneficall if you want to call the corresponding tasks directly in a GH actions pipeline. I think you do not do that in your build. You just call jpackage. Maybe you want to change the names so that it is clearer for contributors that it is not ubuntu specific.

The concrete problem here must be something else, which is probably not something to fix in the plugin, but maybe in the details of how the target (jpackage / jlink parameters) is configured.

But if there is some more concrete information that we can use to improve the plugin, please let me know.
