In alt-screen mode, random jumps to much earlier points in conversation with no way to go back to bottom #1831

Description

Describe the bug

When using Copilot CLI with --alt-screen, randomly, most frequently when scrolling up while the agent is working or when a pop up is open (like a question or a permission request), the conversation history can jump to a much earlier point, and then while the agent is working there is no way whatsoever to scroll back to the bottom to see what it's doing easily aside from manually scrolling down through the entire session history

Affected version

0.0.421

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. In a fairly long session with Copilot, send a message to it that'll have it working for a while
  2. Scroll up in the conversation
  3. After a certain short threshold of scrolling up, the conversation will jump to a much earlier point, and you will have no way to get back to the bottom apart from manually scrolling all the way to the bottom, or exiting and reopening Copilot CLI

Expected behavior

To not randomly jump back up to a much earlier point in the conversation while scrolling up a bit, or at least to have some way of jumping to the bottom of the chat incase this happens

Additional context

  • Architecture: arm64
