Steps:

install appropriate python environment
- activate envirnment

install AliRoot/AliPh
-
install RootInteractive from github
-
add line to your .bashr to define python path. E.g
export PYTHONPATH=$PYTHONPATH:$HOME/github/RootInteractive
- WITHOUT defining path - classes can not be used
In the past (for python2) I used to install virtualenvwrapper Since aliBuild move to the Python3 - this recipe did not work.
For new aliBuild I install virtual env in software directory:
- create python3 virtual environment with name virtualenv3
python3 -m venv virtualenv3
- activate environment
source virtualenv3/bin/activate
- or use alias
alias venv3="source $HOME/software/virtualenv3/bin/activate"
