Since MySQL 8.0 ( the current supported version with CloudStack) is reaching EOL by April 2026, requesting to validate and support a newer version i.e 8.4, in an upcoming release.

nice to see this, since we are using Perconas XtraDB Cluster (currently 8.0) i can provide testing with PXC 8.4

We've been using mariadb 11.4 with galera cluster and its been working fine. That said, we did hit some issues up front with character sets and collations that we had to customize in our mariadb config to get it to work.

Also, MySQL hasn't seen any updates in their public repository in over 3 months, so I think MariaDB is likely going to be the only path forward long term.

Yeah, i wouldn´t use Oracles flavour of MySQL either. Happy Percona user for ~15 yrs or more
