Description

ive noticed in my shenanigans with offloading stuff from iOS and due to this there's duped files but randomly have upper case and lowercase file extensions, this shouldn't matter however tag studio as a side effect due to its compatibility with Linux seems to gets weird issues with files being overwritten/ renamed but just changing casing

like for instance a file named 0001.png and be renamed or overwritten with 0001.PNG (due to windows belving they are the same file,) however the next scan tag studio will make a new file instance for thie "new" file, and this causes very strange behavior like the thumbnail just copying what was in that slot in the last search. and ive just noticed it also seems to reuse these slots in the library when deleted for actually new files

so this is probably very windows exclusive.

oh and uh to remove this dupes i have to rename the file back to what it was before and delete the phantom files and then retreive the files from the recycle bin and place them back where they where before and uh boom, library restored to before the shenanigans sstarted.

i have a few dozens of these in my library due to icloud offloading shenanigans so they have been an issue for awhile

oh i didnt explain right but the original file in the library is still there and it has none of the issues the phantom duplicates have

Expected Behavior

should just behave like how windows iss and should just act like they are the same. due to the above behavior it seems to be an issue with the scanning process, as it doesnt seem to understand how windows handles files to understand its the same file it already has in the library

Steps to Reproduce

think all this requires is to have afew files in a library (in windows) and change the file extentions casing

this may also happen with the casing of the rest of the file but ive never encountered it due to my use case, but if theres an issue there devising a fix would probably fix both
