opt out of auto-downloading updates

problem

would love the ability to opt to download on my terms and not have it auto-download. as simple as "Update available. Click to download."

if the update were <20 mb, it's no biggie but when it's a 200+ mb file, that's a lotta data that can cause some annoyances for those on a) airplane wifi, b) metered starlink, c) hotspot, d) on a coffee shop connection while trying to do a video call, etc.
