When attaching an image with large pixel dimensions via drag-and-drop or file picker, the agent fails to read it. Cmd+V paste works fine with the same image
Tested drag-and-drop and file picker with the same large image across multiple models:
- Sonnet 4.6, Opus 4.5, Opus 4.7: The initial read fails, but the model sometimes resizes the image itself as a workaround before reading it.
- However, this behavior is inconsistent :in some prompts the model just reports it can't read the image and doesn't attempt to resize it, until explicitly asked to.
