Jackson 3.0 support

Jackson 3.0 was recently released. https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson/wiki/Jackson-Release-3.0

It changes the namespace from com.fasterxml.jackson to tools.jackson. Some classed are also been renamed: https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-databind/blob/67f8ef7b1d10a1625c6405b9dadfd1cbcc2ae692/src/main/java/tools/jackson/databind/JacksonModule.java#L21 .

Please add support for Jackson 3.0.

There’s an open PR that contains most of the work for this, #73.

The only real blocker is that we probably need to continue supporting library versions for both Jackson 2 and 3. This requires some review and possible changes to the existing release workflows.

If I had to guess, it will probably be a few weeks before Jackson 3 is supported.

There is a 0.3.x branch now that will be used to support Jackson 3. It’s still in early stages (basically identical to the latest 0.2.x release right now), but I’ll share updates here as progress is made and snapshots are published that may be of interest to users.

Some days ago Spring Boot 4 was released. It has deprecated Jackson2. During our initial investigation on the upgrade path, we got blocked by OpenAPI generation relying on Jackson2 also.

Even though that Spring Boot v4 provides a compatibility mode with Jackson2, in reality it did not work out for us so well, because you end up with mixed Jackson dependencies.

As a natural evolvement of the JSON ecosystem, I think it would be very beneficial to have the Jackson3 adoption done.

As there is already a PR things look promising, yet my comment here is just meant to give the whole topic a little bump...

Could you please share an estimated timeline for when this change might be available
Also, is there any plan to provide a temporary or pre-release version (e.g. a snapshot) that can be used before the official release

@DuanHen They already released it. I have dependabot running on my project and yesterday it suggested the update to 0.2.10. https://github.com/OpenAPITools/jackson-databind-nullable/releases

Already updated it and seems to work fine!
