Modifying existing classes

tried to modify a function that currently exists in Note.hx (I'm trying to eventually add sustain covers), but it wasn't working. Here's what I did; this traced nothing ever.

Please help. I'm pretty certain that I'm using the wrong approach for this, but I'm unsure of what the right approach is because I'm backend-illiterate

To my knowledge, you can't "overlay" classes like this. You need to inherit the original class and use the new class. That, and updateSustain doesn't have override, so you're unable to override that function in v1.0.1.

well that sucks. are there any other systems either in the modspace or currently in the works for future versions for sustain covers? or is there a better way I could probably approach this? I tried to make a handler but HScript didn't like flixel.group.FlxTypedGroup not being a real thing

I do know that this pull request for hscript-improved was recently merged in; it adds some additional overriding functionality. You may want to make use of the new overriding features provided by the pull request, though you'll need to use a nightly version or compile the master branch yourself for Codename.

Eh, it's fine. I'd prefer to stick to full versions (the latest of which being 1.0.1) since we are making a mod we want actual people to be able to play; I mean I don't want to make youtubers go to the CNE Github and get the latest action pull, especially when the gamebanana is there. It's fine; sutsain covers aren't that important. Thank you for the help!
